Networking and Memberships

The university is active in various cross-university networks. University members are involved in these networks and cross-university initiatives in order to exchange information on specialised and topics related to equal opportunities. 

Federal Conference of Women's and Gender Equality Officers at Universities (bukof)

The German Federal Conference of Women' s and Gender Equality Officers (Bundeskonferenz der Frauen- und Gleichstellungsbeauftragten an Hochschulen e. V., in short: bukof) is a networking organisation for gender equality stakeholders on related topics. The bukof is the gender policy voice in the discourse on science and higher education policy. The bukof brings together all those who shape the structure and culture of universities in Germany in a gender-equitable way.

Diversity Charter

The University of Oldenburg has been a signatory to the Diversity Charter since 2014. It has thus set itself the goal of recognising and promoting the diversity of its employees and their diverse potential as an employer. It wants to create a working environment that is free from prejudice. Since 2021, UOL has taken part in the annual nationwide Diversity Day by the Diversity Charter Association.

Diversity network of the city of Oldenburg

The University is an active member of the City of Oldenburg's Diversity Network. The network is open to all Oldenburg companies and organisations that have signed the Diversity Charter.

Association 'Family at University'

The University of Oldenburg is a member of the German association Family at University (Familie in der Hochschule). There, University employees of the Family Service exchange ideas with other university members about family orientation. Familie in der Hochschule e.V. pursues the compatibility of studies, academic careers and family responsibilities in universities.

Network of Office Holders with Rresponsibility for Diversity

At university management level, the UOL participates in the network of office holders responsible for diversity. The network focusses on professional exchange on current political developments, new research findings and the structural anchoring of diversity at universities.

Network on Anti-discrimination at Universities

In the nationwide anti-discrimination network at universities, the university is committed to professional and sustainable anti-discrimination work in the higher education landscape. The network is an open association of stakeholders from around 100 universities and higher education institutions. The aim is to counteract discrimination at all levels and to actively help shape discrimination-sensitive university development.

Network Diversity at Universities

The University is involved in the nationwide Diversity at Universities network. The network aims to strengthen diversity and anti-discrimination activities at universities and to institutionalise diversity strategies and structures at universities through the collegial exchange of experience and expertise.
