Doctoral project

Ideas of digitalisation and everyday media behaviour (working title)

Abstract

The doctoral project is dedicated to the question of how (future) scenarios of digitalisation correspond to media action in everyday life, i.e. what practical relevance - in the sense of action orientations corresponding to the digitalisation scenarios - the scenarios develop. Based on the assumption that digitalisation processes are negotiated in public discourses with recourse to different dystopian and utopian visions of the future and development, qualitative guided interviews will firstly examine which communicative knowledge content and explicit ideas about digitalisation are present among the interviewees. In a second step, it is reconstructed whether these descriptions are associated with implicit and conjunctive orientations for action for their own everyday media use.
