Invitation to International Women's Day 2016 at the University of Oldenburg

Tuesday, 8 March 2016 in the Library Hall, Haarentor campus - Employees in technology and administration at the University of Oldenburg are released from work to attend from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon, with the permission of the Vice President for Administration and Finance.

A panel discussion entitled "Equal opportunities and staff representation - a contradiction?" will take place from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon .

The panellists will be discussing

• Petra Mende, Member of the Board of the Staff Council of the University of Oldenburg

• Dr Anna Pechan, Equal Opportunities Officer, Department of Economics and Law, University of Oldenburg

on the questions:

• What are the challenges facing universities today?

• What is the remit of Staff Councils and Equal Opportunities Officers at universities today?

• How do changes in co-determination rights affect the scope of action of equal opportunities officers and staff representatives?

• What differences and similarities are there in the strategies and objectives?
