About us
In recent years, in connection with the discussion about current and future educational tasks in the general education system, it has become increasingly clear that Economics Education must be an integral part of general education concepts for pupils at all school levels and in all school types.
Without basic economic knowledge, it is almost impossible to grasp the complex interrelationships between the economy, politics and society. To promote economic education as a general education in all types of schools, there are three closely interlinked institutions in Oldenburg:
- IÖB (Institute affiliated with the University of Oldenburg)
- IfÖB (including a degree programme at the Carl von Ossietzky University)
- wigy e.V. (offer for teachers, pupils and the interested public for a practice-orientated examination of the interrelationships of daily economic activity)
Further information can be found on the Institute's website.
The establishment of the An-Institute has received substantial support from the state of Lower Saxony as well as the Oldenburg and regional economy. Our special thanks go to them.
