About the person
As an art mediator, I combine theory and practice. The basis for this is a degree in stage design at the Art Academy in Stuttgart (with Prof Jürgen Rose) and a degree in art history and philosophy in Stuttgart and Würzburg. Today, the focus of my work is the implementation of contemporary forms of mediation; for example, I develop and realise specific workshop offers and lectures for the Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (ifa) for their touring exhibitions. In my research work, I concentrate on the field of transcultural art education and cultural policy in the Nazi era. I completed my dissertation entitled: "Kunstberichte als kultur- und pressepolitisches Herrschaftsinstrument im NS - Untersuchung der Berichterstattung zur "Großen Deutschen Kunstausstellung" in München von 1937 bis 1943 in der "Frankfurter Zeitung und Handelsblatt"" with a thesis defence in 2022(http://nbn-resolving.org/urn:nbn:de:gbv:715-oops-59263). Since 2014 I have been a research assistant at the Carl von Ossietzky University at the Institute of Art and Visual Culture in the field of art mediation/art education. From 2019 to 2023, I worked there on the OLE+ project (biography-orientated and cross-phase teacher training), which was entitled: "Talking about art". The project focussed on the development of teaching/learning materials for language-sensitive learning in schools, especially in art lessons. To this end, considerations are presented that show how it is possible to combine aesthetic/differentiation-sensitive with educational science perspectives with regard to speaking before/about/with art.
