Series of lectures "Object / Security"
Series of lectures "Object / Security"
The series of lectures, organised annually at the start of the winter semester by the University of Oldenburg’s Curators’ Working Group and co-ordinated by the Institute of Material Culture, focuses on the remit and work carried out in teaching and research collections. Speakers from various institutions present and discuss current projects, research and their day-to-day work.
This semester, the focus is on the security of objects within collection contexts. However, the term ‘security’ is deliberately defined in a flexible manner – the speakers will report not only on very specific measures for securing objects in the sense of preventative conservation, but will also address data security and systems for safeguarding knowledge resources. In addition to members of the University of Oldenburg, several guest speakers will also take the floor. The series concludes with a poster slam, at which student projects relating to collections will be presented publicly via posters. The posters will be judged during the presentation, with a small prize up for grabs!
The event will be held in a hybrid format to ensure wider reach – access via BBB is available via the following link: https://elearning.uni-oldenburg.de/plugins.php/meetingplugin/room/index/e84e0ba7232f0d8d271e1666844d05b2/c342606d0babe7a04453e2776c39486e?cancel_login=1
PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately, the talk on 2 November has had to be cancelled due to illness.
