In the series of lectures initiated annually in the winter semester by the University of Oldenburg's Custody Working Group and coordinated by the Institute of Material Culture, the focus is on areas of responsibility and work on teaching and research collections. Speakers from various institutions report on and discuss current projects, research and their day-to-day work.

This semester, the focus is on the security of objects in collection contexts. However, the term "security" is deliberately flexible - the speakers will report on very specific measures for securing objects in the sense of preventive conservation, but data security or systems for securing knowledge collections will also be discussed. In addition to members of the University of Oldenburg, several guest speakers will also speak. The final event will be a poster slam, in which student projects related to the collection will be presented publicly with posters. The posters will be judged at the presentation and there is a small prize up for grabs!
