Gender & Diversity

Gender-reflective and diversity-conscious higher education didactics aims to create teaching and learning contexts that are as free as possible from discrimination and barriers and thus strengthen students' opportunities for participation.

In order to counteract social inequalities and exclusions in higher education, lecturers need knowledge, sensitivity and awareness of gender and diversity both when planning and implementing teaching as well as when counselling and examining. Including gender and diversity in teaching, counselling and examination processes is one of the basic principles of good teaching and student-oriented didactics.

Offers

With counselling, further training and workshops, we offer didactic impulses for equal opportunities and anti-discrimination in teaching design and promote reflection and exchange with regard to teaching-learning conditions and possible courses of action. This includes communicating key principles of good teaching and transferring them to digital teaching and learning scenarios.

A central concern is to anchor equal opportunities and protection against discrimination as cross-cutting issues in degree programme development and curriculum planning.
