Study

The Institute of Music at the University of Oldenburg is the largest institute in Lower Saxony for the training of music teachers at general education schools. It also prepares students for academic appointments in institutions, companies and project contexts in the media and current musical life.
The study programme is largely geared towards the requirements of professional practice. Practical music, music theory, musicology and music education are combined. Traditional forms of European art music together with popular music, jazz, new music technologies and contemporary forms of art music form important practical and theoretical elements of the study programme.

All Master's programmes are designed in such a way that Bachelor's students from other universities can also take up their Master's studies in Oldenburg (see the respective study requirements here!).
