Exhibition on the subject of torture

The causes, forms and consequences of torture are the focus of an exhibition in the University Library on Uhlhornsweg, which can be seen until 6 November.

The causes, forms and consequences of torture are the focus of an exhibition in the University Library on Uhlhornsweg, which can be seen until 6 November. The exhibition is part of the "Stop Torture" campaign by the human rights organisation Amnesty International (AI).

The University Library has developed the travelling exhibition together with Oldenburg AI representatives and the AI Coordination Group against Torture. Two accompanying courses in the library hall are dedicated to background information and positions on the topic. On Monday 26 October at 7 p.m., a panel discussion with various representatives from the university and Gaby Stein, spokesperson for the board of Amnesty International Germany, will examine different perspectives on torture. On Thursday, 29 October, at 7 p.m., the spokesperson of the AI Coordination Group against Torture, Prof. Dr Smail Rapic, will give a lecture entitled "Stop Torture".

The exhibition can be seen until 6 November from Monday to Friday between 8.00 am and midnight and at weekends from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm.
