"Beats'n'Tweets" is the title of an open air concert in which five student music groups will present themselves on 30 June at 6 p.m. on the Haarentor campus of the University of Oldenburg (next to the auditorium). They will offer a wide-ranging programme in a summery, airy atmosphere. This is the 3rd concert organised by the Institute of Music with the Universitätsgesellschaft Oldenburg e.V. (UGO), a friends' association for music education at the university. Admission is free.
- The 14-piece soul and funk band "Better Call Soul!" under the direction of Peter Janssen, covers well-known soul music titles and supports them with rock elements.
- In the "e-beat Ensembles", four students under the direction of Axel Fries play stylish electro beats and are accompanied by generative video projections that were created as part of a seminar.
- Using only voice and bass, the duo "Me & The Boy " give songs from the 80s, 90s and today a new, special charm.
- The trombone quartet "Trombastic" proves that a lot is possible with these deep-sounding instruments: from modern songs and baroque sounds to children's songs.
- With "unplugged", the name says it all: 13 musicians developed songs as part of a seminar, which they present without microphones or speakers using only the volume of their voices.
Prof. Dr Susanne Binas-Preisendörfer and Jannika Olesch will lead through the programme. There will be a small reception for visitors during the interval.
