Heike Andermann, previously head of the three libraries of the School of Business, Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Hamburg, is the new deputy director of Oldenburg University Library.

Andermann studied sociology, psychology and journalism at the Free University of Berlin. Before completing her traineeship as an academic librarian at the Berlin Central and State Library from 2000 to 2002, she worked in the commercial department of the Diakonisches Werk Berlin. She then worked as a research assistant on the German Research Foundation (DFG)-funded project "Structures of Scientific Information Provision and Development in the Field of Open Access" at the University of Potsdam.

In 2004, Andermann took over the management of the library of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities and introduced a new library system there. This was followed by the management of the three libraries at the University of Hamburg from 2008 to 2011.

In Oldenburg, the academic librarian is responsible for quality management, budget and financial planning as well as service marketing for the library and information system (BIS).
