Another tailwind for the Oldenburg start-up MiCROW: The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) is also supporting the young company, which has its roots in the Oldenburg Computing Science Institute OFFIS - an affiliated institute of the university - in the second phase of the "EXIST Research Transfer" programme. The young entrepreneurs will receive funding totalling 180,000 euros. The University of Oldenburg's Start-up and Innovation Centre has accompanied them over the past few years and supported their project with professional advice, coaching and qualification offers.
The MiCROW team has developed a micro-assembly system for components that measure significantly less than one millimetre. The system is much more compact than previous systems on the market, more flexible and can be operated intuitively using various input devices. MiCROW therefore enables small and medium-sized high-tech companies in particular to overcome hurdles in micro-assembly. The new system is aimed in particular at prototyping and the production of small series in sensor technology, as well as other sectors such as medical and environmental technology. It can be seen at the Hannover Messe from 25 to 29 April (Hall A2, Stand A08).
The BMWi programme "EXIST Transfer of Research" supports research-based start-up projects that involve complex and high-risk development work. The University of Oldenburg has been recognised as one of the best start-up universities in Germany since 2011 and has been awarded the title "EXIST Start-up University" by the BMWi.
