First Music Open Air in the Botanical Garden

Sixteen bands and three stages in the middle of the botanical gardens - on Sunday, 14 August, the Botanical Garden of the University of Oldenburg (Philosophenweg) invites you to the "Music of the Gardens" festival for the first time.

Sixteen bands and three stages in the middle of the botanical gardens - on Sunday, 14 August, the Botanical Garden of the University of Oldenburg (Philosophenweg) is hosting the "Music of the Gardens" festival for the first time.

The music repertoire is as colourful and varied as the backdrop: From jazz, blues and Irish folk to pop, rock and hip hop, every genre is represented. In addition to professional artists, music schools from Oldenburg and the surrounding area also take part in the open air. The festival starts at 12.00 noon and admission is free.

Until now, visitors to the Botanical Garden have mainly been able to admire native and exotic plants. Now amateur musicians and real professionals will be staged on the 3.5-hectare site. There is also a great programme of events next to the stages, especially for families: for example, anyone who likes can make their own instrument from plant materials. Free childcare will be provided by the AWO Weser-Ems e.V. youth organisation as well as food and drink. The garden is also relaxing one of its traditional house rules: Picnic blankets are allowed as an exception - to listen to the music from one of the many lawns.
