The "Intercultural Education and Counselling" degree programme at the university still has a few places available for the winter semester: Migrants who have started or completed a degree programme with a pedagogical or social science focus in their country of origin can still apply until the end of the month.
The degree programme can be completed while working and leads to a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. The aim of the programme is to impart skills in pedagogical professional fields in the migration society and to combine theoretical foundations with practical knowledge. The degree qualifies students to work in social work and education, education and youth work, refugee or school social work, cultural institutions and labour market integration.
Students can receive credit for two semesters of their degree programme in their country of origin and enrol for a further four semesters in Oldenburg. In addition to a school-leaving certificate that qualifies them to attend university, the requirements also include proof of at least two years of pedagogical work - whether academic or voluntary. The application procedure is carried out online via uni-assist e.V., the employment and service centre for international applicants. Further information can be obtained from the programme coordinator Andrea Hertlein at the Institute of Educational Sciences.
