Careers in marine and climate sciences

More than 100 young German and international scientists took part in a career day for doctoral students in marine and climate sciences co-organised by the University of Oldenburg. The graduate symposium at the Haus der Wissenschaft in Bremen offered 19 presentations by speakers from business, science, administration, politics, non-governmental organisations and journalism. Afterwards, the participants were able to talk to them personally in small groups about academic appointments beyond academic research. Doctoral students and coordinators from various graduate schools and doctoral programmes from Bremen, Bremerhaven and Oldenburg organised the event, including the Oldenburg Graduate School OLTECH and the "Roseobacter" Collaborative Research Centre funded by the German Research Foundation.
