Vierkind is an Oldenburg start-up that develops innovative Internet projects. Coached by the Start-up and Innovation Centre, Vierkind has now received its first award - for a test report network designed to provide orientation in the multimedia product jungle.
The four founders - students Pascal Gabor Vida, Philipp Wiegel, Constantin Buncke and Dominik Bleser - are delighted to have received funding totalling 18,000 euros. The name Vierkind is the programme. It stands for a playful and open approach that the team combines with expert knowledge. Under the motto "Every idea counts", Vierkind develops complex online projects from simple ideas - "with clear added value", as Pascal Vida from Vierkind emphasises, "because our online services are designed to make everyday life easier".
In their pilot project reviewzone.de, the Vierkind team is building an online network for reviews and test reports in the fields of technology and multimedia, which provides high-quality information and a wide variety of assessments on sought-after products. Different reviews, from small blogs to editorially managed online magazines, provide an objective picture of the product - and thus support consumers in their purchasing decisions.
But reviewzone.de offers even more: as a review network, it involves those who provide information and test reports. As network members, they can link their own online pages on the portal and thus increase their own readership. The online portal is financed via target group-optimised advertising formats.
Dr Christian Horneber, who supports Vierkind as a start-up coach at the Start-up and Innovation Centre (GIZ), is convinced by the business idea and the founding team: "Vierkind impresses with its online expertise and a great team. This is one of the reasons why we are also supporting the team in our pre-incubator VentureLab."
GründerCampus Niedersachsen is funded by the state of Lower Saxony and the European Union. The programme supports students, graduates and academic staff in setting up a business. Applicants must submit a detailed business plan - including evidence of a clearly recognisable market volume and a market entry strategy including a risk analysis.
