Students artistically depict career paths
Oldenburg. Interviewing female managers about their career paths and presenting what they say in an artistic way - this is the task that students from the Universities of Oldenburg and Lüneburg and the Jade University of Applied Sciences devoted themselves to in the summer semester. The students are presenting their results in an exhibition that will open with a vernissage on Thursday, 1 October at 5 p.m. in the library hall of the University of Oldenburg (Uhlhornsweg 49-55). On display are paintings and sculptures of various sizes and styles, combined with biographies and photos of the interviewees. The works of art show that many different paths lead to a position of responsibility.
"Women in leadership positions - the North has FiF" is the name of the module in which interdisciplinary teams of students worked out the special features and challenges of women in leadership positions. The students were supported in the creative process by a team of artists from Oldenburg. The aim of the module coordinators is to initiate gender-sensitive discussions on the topic of "leadership".
The exhibits can be seen in the foyer of the university library until 20 October. After that, they will be shown at the locations of the participating universities.
The module "Women in leadership positions - the North has FiF" serves to develop students' individual profiles and expand their professional, methodological and social skills. The module was first initiated at the University of Oldenburg in 2010 by the Equal Opportunities Officers of the Department of Economics and Law. This year, the content of the project has been further developed through co-operation between the three universities. The participants were supported by the Bremen Stock Exchange Foundation, the EWE Foundation and the practical partners from the 3x3 artists' network and the Cyrus Group.
