Seminar papers, theses, project work - students also do research, but the results often disappear in a drawer after marking. The newly developed "forschen@studium" conference at the University of Oldenburg makes the findings of student research visible.
It invites students from all over Germany to Oldenburg in June 2016. Anyone interested in presenting their work at the conference can submit a paper now.
The event on 8 and 9 June in Oldenburg offers students the opportunity to present their findings and successes to a large audience and exchange ideas about their scientific work. Up to 150 speakers from all scientific disciplines are expected to attend, coming from colleges and universities from all over Germany. Lectures and poster presentations are planned, as well as other formats such as science slams or elevator talks, in which the speakers have to present their research in a particularly concise manner. The student conference will be combined with a conference on research-oriented teaching and learning, which will also take place at the University of Oldenburg on 9 and 10 June.
The "forschen@studium" conference in Oldenburg is the start of a series of events for student research that is to be established in Germany. Such conferences already have a long tradition in the Anglo-Saxon education system.
