Teacher training working group (formerly AG Schule)
The working group deals with issues relating to teacher training. In doing so, it fulfils a mandate from the Institute of Educational Sciences (Section 2(3) of the Institute’s Rules of Procedure). As an organisational sub-unit of the Institute, its role is to prepare decisions and resolutions for the institute council, to ensure that teaching in the educational sciences is appropriate in terms of content (module descriptions) and in line with needs (course offerings), to plan the financial resources allocated to it for quality assurance in studies in a needs-based and innovation-oriented manner, and to facilitate the flow of information to the relevant bodies. In addition, the monthly meetings serve as a forum for academic staff to exchange ideas on course content and discuss ways of optimising teaching processes.
The Teacher Training Working Group comprises the lecturers of the regular educational science modules pb 006, pb 007, ASP, Biw 010, Biw 020, Biw 040, Biw 051/052 and the educational science teaching components in the Master’s degree module MAM and the GHR project portfolio. In addition, the project-based modules pb 238 to 240 in the School Social Work Professional Development Programme are integrated into the Teacher Training Working Group.
Representatives from the Teacher Training Student Body, the Coordinator for Studies and Teaching, and representatives from the Centre for Didactics (DiZ) regularly attend the working group’s meetings as advisory members.
The Teacher Training Working Group cooperates with the Pedagogy Working Group, the Educational Psychology Working Group, the General Studies Working Group and the Further Education and Educational Management Working Group.
