Clinical-practical skills are integrated into the degree programme as a longitudinal strand from the 1st year and accompany the topics of the respective module. These are specialist practical lessons in which clinical examination techniques as well as diagnostic and therapeutic measures are learnt on models, simulators or simulated persons or in which the students perform them on each other. The skills learnt are tested in OSCEs at the end of each year.

As part of the communication and counselling series of events, knowledge in the field of medical communication is taught and skills are systematically trained from the first module onwards. The curriculum comprises approx. 150 hours in the field of communication. Communication skills are tested in accordance with the Constructive Alignment in an OSCE examination using a simulated medical conversation.

In the longitudinal Professional Development strand, which runs through all years of the programme, students are supported in their professional development. Practical and clinical experiences are processed and reflected upon. In addition, a range of interdisciplinary topics are discussed and students receive regular formative feedback.
