Clinical Training Center
Clinical Training Center
The Clinical Training Centre (KTZ) is an integral part of the practical training for all degree programmes at School V - School of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Oldenburg.
Spanning over 600 square metres, the centre houses several skills labs where students can practise their practical skills. In fully equipped consultation rooms with video monitoring, students can practise and improve their communication skills with simulation patients.
Students undertake various compulsory courses on clinical practical skills. In addition, students can take advantage of a wide range of extracurricular activities and further develop the skills they have acquired during ‘open practice sessions’.
Another key focus of teaching at the KTZ is the teaching of medical communication techniques and the integration of this training with clinical and practical content. Well-trained simulation patients, ranging in age from children to the very elderly, are actively used in the various teaching formats across all subjects.
