Information for Prospective Students
Humanity is increasingly coming up against ecological and social boundaries. Problems such as global warming, loss of biodiversity, epidemics or poverty are becoming more and more urgent. To deal with these challenges, leaders with solid economics knowledge and a well-founded cross-sectional knowledge of ecological and social issues, as well as a strong sense of responsibility are in demand, i.e. experts in sustainability.
The master's programme in Sustainability Economics and Management (SEM) is designed to coach these experts in sustainability. It provides graduates with factual knowledge as well as analytical, interdisciplinary and social skills in order to enable them to work in businesses, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) or international organisations.
There is a close cooperation with research and teaching at the University of Oldenburg dealing with topics of sustainability and the environment.
