Social inequalities, migration-related diversity, digitalisation and new family forms challenge schools in their established structures and require structural change. Freedom can help with this change, but how can it be promoted, designed and utilised? The 33rd School Management Conference offers orientation on this question.

In the introductory lecture, Prof. Dr Aladin El-Mafaalani
(TU Dortmund University), one of the most distinguished educational and migration sociologists, will take a sociological look at the development of our society and combine this with findings from educational research. In the 16 impulse offers that follow, examples of open spaces from different types of schools and concepts for the development of open spaces will be presented.
