Event report SSB 01/2025 (15 May)

Around 65 people registered for the first meeting of the Sustainability Sounding Board. This time, the focus was on participation and communication. After a presentation on the current measures for more sustainable university operations, the participants were able to enter into dialogue with each other.

The following questions, for example, were discussed:

  • How can the participation of which university members contribute to achieving climate neutrality in 2030? What should existing and/or new participation structures look like in order to achieve this effect?
  • Which formats on the topic of (university) sustainability/climate protection are currently lacking at the university?
  • How can sustainability be further anchored in university structures? In general and where I am?
  • What sustainability potential has not (yet) been utilised at the university? How can this change?
  • How is the SSB organised so that I participate regularly and report positively to others? What elements should be present or take place in the SSB so that I find participation interesting/helpful/constructive for myself and others?

Agenda

  • Welcome by Jörg Stahlmann, Vice President for Administration & Finance
  • Presentation of current sustainability measures by Anna Krämer, Officer for climate action management
  • Group work on participation processes and communication of sustainability at the University of Oldenburg
  • Exchange on the results of the group work & summarising the contributions

The event was moderated by Anna Krämer, Officer for climate action management.
