Joelle-Marie Krautz M.A.

Joelle-Marie Krautz has left the division in June 2022.

Joelle-Marie Krautz studied history and comparative theology of religions (B.A.) as well as educational science and theologies in dialogue (M.A.) at the University of Paderborn. In addition to her studies, she worked as a research assistant with a bachelor's degree for subject-specific study advice / student counseling at the Institute for Protestant Theology at the University of Paderborn and also worked from 2013 to 2021 as a service assistant in a care unit in a nursing home in Bielefeld. She joined the Division for Ethics in Medicine at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg as a research assistant in March 2021.

She is a member of the interdisciplinary (DFG) research group „Medizin und die Zeitstruktur guten Lebens“ and is responsible for sub-project 7 „Zwischen Resignation und Optimierung – Die Zeitstruktur des guten Lebens im Kontext der Altersmedizin“. Her research interests focus on the medical-ethical aspects of the relationship between modern medicine and the temporal conditions of a good life with regard to aging and older age as a phase of life. She pays particular attention to the change in the understanding of finiteness in the light of medical progress.
