Meike Ahlers M.A.

Meike Ahlers has left the division in March 2023. 

Meike Ahlers studied nursing and health management (B.A.) at Münster University of Applied Sciences and sport and lifestyle (M.A.) at Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg. Prior to her studies, she was actively involved in medical technology and inpatient/outpatient care as a registered health and pediatric nurse. In addition to internships in the German Bundestag (health policy) and the state police (occupational health management), she worked directly after her studies in the health management of an automotive company and the health promotion of nursing staff via the PpSG. Since May 2021, she has been a research associate at OFFIS in the Department of Assistive Technologies for Care and Nursing and works affiliated with the Department of Ethics in Medicine at Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg.

The focus of her current work is the BMBF-funded project VAPiAR (Improvement of working conditions in outpatient care through innovative work concepts in the region). Within the project she is responsible for the consideration of ethical and social aspects of the development and implementation of care technologies. Her research interests include the medical-ethical consideration of the use of technology in nursing and the sociological examination of future-relevant topics in nursing and health care. Further interests are in the area of developments in health policy and health promotion of employees in health care professions.
