Prof. Dr. Martin Könneke
I'm the head of the Benthic Microbiology Group and a marine microbiologist studying the ecology and physiology of microorganisms in various marine habitats. My research aims to unravel the metabolic capacities of bacteria and archaea and to determine their contribution to the marine biogoechemical cycles.
