Method

A small droplet of the test liquid is suspended from a capillary and placed onto the surface to be investigated. The drop contour is imaged by a video camera. The angle between the drop controur and the sample surface is extracted from the digital phpotograph. The contact angle is indicative for the interactions of the solid samples and the molecules of the test liquid. Surface modification often result in a change of the contact angle.
