Due to the amount of fieldwork and the fact that we work at different locations, it can be difficult to keep each other up to date on what is currently happening in our projects. To exchange ideas, provide each other with input, and share our successes, we meet regularly.
At this retreat, we have eight talks covering topics such as behavior, neurophysiology, and anatomy. Our discussions range from butterflies and moths to dung beetles and desert ants. We will also use the opportunity to plan the next steps for the upcoming field seasons, including experiments on monarch butterflies in Texas and dung beetles in South Africa.
Jaqueline will tell us about the experiments she is planning as part of her ERC project, which she was awarded last year.
