What are you doing at the C3L?
I’m enrolled at the university as a guest student. I went straight from my job at the Higher Regional Court to the lecture theatre and attended my first philosophy lecture on my fourth day of retirement. After 45 years in the workforce, I simply had to do something different.
What do you particularly enjoy?
There’s so much to see and learn on the campus. It’s always very stimulating and I can choose whatever interests me at the moment. I also appreciate the interaction with the younger students. The different perspectives of the generations often lead to interesting discussions. Many lecturers also find the life and professional experiences that guest students bring to some seminars to be an enrichment. I find the comprehensive and attentive service provided by the C3L team a great help. It offers guidance and is motivating at the same time.
Where will your studies take you?
“I don’t know. Sounds interesting. I’ll give it a go.” That’s my motto for the selection of a study programme. I’m driven by curiosity, enthusiasm and a thirst for knowledge. I usually don’t have any prior knowledge of the courses I’m taking. I’m already looking forward to the next programme: every semester brings new and exciting topics.
