Oldenburg. From the Bachelor’s degree in ‘Business Administration’ to the Master’s degree in ‘Innovation Management’ – the part-time degree programmes at the University of Oldenburg are starting a new intake. They are aimed at working professionals who wish to qualify for positions of responsibility. In addition to two Bachelor’s degree programmes in business administration, the C3L – Centre for Lifelong Learning – offers five Master’s degree programmes in the fields of management and law. The degree programmes begin in the 2020/21 winter semester. Applications for the Master’s degree programmes are now open until 1 September, whilst applications for the Bachelor’s degree programmes are open from 16 July to 15 September.

Shaping learning and teaching is at the heart of two degree programmes: the Master’s in ‘Education and Science Management’ equips students to effectively manage and develop educational institutions. The international Master’s degree programme in ‘Management of Technology-Enhanced Learning’ focuses on online-based learning and teaching.

The degree programmes “Risk Management for Financial Service Providers”, “Information Law” and “Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship” also lead to a Master’s degree. Those interested can obtain a Bachelor’s degree in ‘Business Administration in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises’ and in ‘Business Administration for Elite Athletes’. Anyone wishing to try out part-time study can enrol in individual modules as further education, which will be credited towards a degree should they enrol at a later date.

Part-time study at C3L is largely web-based, with students learning via an online learning environment. Teaching is therefore not affected by the current contact restrictions, explains Tim Zentner, Head of Degree Programmes at C3L: “Our students have always learnt to collaborate digitally.” This allows them to balance their studies flexibly with work, leisure and family life. The course content is also tailored to working professionals, linking current real-world challenges with academic insights. Furthermore, professional skills and credits from previous studies or further education can be recognised, thereby shortening the duration of the programme.
