UNI AM MARKT will open its doors for the last time this year next Saturday, 20 October from 11:00 a.m. (s.t.): Prof. Dr Ingo Mose from the Institute of Biology and Environmental Sciences at our university will speak in the Exerzierhalle at Pferdemarkt about "Biosphere reserves - laboratories for sustainable development?".
From the Wadden Sea in Lower Saxony to the Upper Lusatian Heath and the Berchtesgardener Land - there are a total of 17 biosphere reserves in Germany. These are areas that have been selected by UNESCO as model areas for sustainable development. The aim is to trial particularly sustainable farming methods there. Particular emphasis is placed on a balanced relationship between humans and the biosphere. Using selected initiatives and projects as examples, Mose will present the approaches that have been implemented so far and what can be learnt from them for society as a whole.
Admission to this event is free.
