16 trainers and practical instructors from professional and plant fire services in Lower Saxony, Bremen and North Rhine-Westphalia successfully completed an extra-occupational certificate programme for teaching and learning in adult and further education last Friday.
The compact course, designed by the C3L - Center for Lifelong Learning, is part of the "NQ - Qualification for Teachers" programme, which has been offered at the University of Oldenburg for many years. For the first time, firefighters involved in firefighter training were given the opportunity to professionalise themselves as learning process facilitators and to get to know and apply current action-oriented teaching/learning methods.
After accepting the respective theses and passing the oral examination, Dr Christiane Brokmann-Nooren, Head of the "Education & Management" department at C3L, presented the participants with a "Certificate of Advanced Studies" (CAS) and congratulated the graduates, who had refreshed and expanded their teaching skills by participating in the training.
The current offer "NQ - Qualification for Teachers" can be found on the website of this certificate programme.
