The economist Prof. Dr Stephanie Birkner, the organisational researcher Prof. Dr Heinke Röbken and the media didactics expert Prof. Dr Olaf Zawacki-Richter have formed the new Board of Directors of the C3L - Center for Lifelong Learning at the University of Oldenburg since 1 April.

The Centre Council, which represents the members and affiliates of the C3L, recently elected the Board of Directors from among its members. Prof Dr Olaf Zawacki-Richter takes on the role of Executive Director. The Board of Directors manages the C3L with the departments Teaching and Development of Offerings, Young Talent and Transfer as well as Open University and Digitalisation. The term of office is three years.
Zawacki-Richter has been teaching and researching in Oldenburg since 2010. Previously, he was a university lecturer for educational technology at the Open University in Hagen and project leader for internet-based continuing education projects at the Bankakademie in Frankfurt a.M. Among other things, he researches open and distance learning systems in an international comparison and deals with applications of digital media for learning and teaching, in particular with open educational resources.
Röbken was appointed to the University of Oldenburg in 2011. She was previously Professor of Educational Management and Educational Organisation at the University of Wuppertal. Her research interests include international comparative higher education research and organisational change in educational institutions.
Birkner has held the unique junior professorship "Female Entrepreneurship" since 2014. Her research focuses on the socio-economic potential that arises from the reciprocal interplay between gender relations and the economy in the course of social transformations.
