C3L takes over scientific management for sub-project in the "Open Universities Network"

With the start of the second funding phase of the second round of the federal-state competition "Advancement through Education: Open Universities", networking between the end of projects in the competition has continued to be supported since 1 February 2018: Previously linked to the funding projects of the first round of the competition at the universities of Oldenburg, Weimar and Ulm, the Open Universities Network (NOH) is now being funded as an independent project. The project leader for the Oldenburg network node has been transferred from Prof. Dr Olaf Zawacki-Richter to Prof. Dr Anke Hanft and Dr Christiane Brokmann-Nooren and is thus more closely linked to the Centre for Lifelong Learning (C3L).

The aim of the network is the long-term and successful establishment of lifelong learning programmes in the German higher education landscape.

Its coordination, based at the three universities of Oldenburg, Weimar and Ulm, enables and supports the initiation and design of programmes, the supervision of participating projects, the initiation of co-operation and the fundamental networking of players - even beyond the competition. The focus is on networking, consulting, qualification and communication and is implemented in formats such as working meetings, webinars and webinar series, as well as study visits. The diverse requirements and expectations of the individual projects are addressed through the mediation of experts as part of the peer counselling service.
