Oldenburg innovation researcher Prof Dr Jannika Mattes will be taking a closer look at the regional energy transition and the role of stakeholders in a short public lecture. Anyone interested can attend her lecture on Saturday, 28 April at 11.00 a.m. in the "Uni am Markt" in the Exerzierhalle at Pferdemarkt. Admission starts at 10.45 a.m. and is free. How can the energy transition succeed? Scientists and economists have a variety of models, theories and approaches at their disposal. But they are not easy to implement. And a closer look reveals that we know surprisingly little about how such processes work. The lecture therefore focuses on the individuals and organisations involved. Using an example region, Mattes shows the role of the players in the energy transition: How they renegotiate their position of power, what complex learning processes take place and how regions gain a new self-image in this way. In the "Uni am Markt" event series, a joint project of the C3L - Centre for Lifelong Learning at the University of Oldenburg and the Oldenburg State Theatre, scientists provide insights into research questions and projects and introduce visitors to the exciting world of science.
