30 Dutch and 30 German senior students met at the beginning of the week to kick off the "Border Contacts" lecture series on the Lifelong Learning Campus of the University of Oldenburg. This is the 16th time that the C3L - Centre for Lifelong Learning, together with the Seniorenacademie Groningen, Friesland, Drenthe, has offered this series, which is very popular with participants. The topics of the lectures are varied, ranging from "Climate change on the North Sea coast" to "Economic policy in the Ems Dollart region after 1945" and "Academic passion. `Campus novel'- the university novel in the European and North American context" (three examples from this year's programme), Dutch and German academics will provide insights into their subjects and research areas.
