![]() | Dr phil. Johann Bölts, a recognised expert in traditional Chinese healing methods and concepts, passed away on 13 October at the age of 68 after a serious illness. |
Since the late 1980s, he had been committed to opening up a view beyond purely conventional medical healing methods at the University of Oldenburg and established the "Contact Study Programme Qigong", a unique university further education programme in Germany. Among other things, he taught and researched qigong, issues of occupational health management, regeneration skills and burn-out prevention. For many years, Bölts was Chair of the expert committee for Qigong qualifications of the German health insurance organisations. Internationally, he cooperated closely with universities and health organisations in China. He succeeded early on in opening up the university to target groups from the health professions and offering them further education at an academic level. In his work, Bölts was characterised by holistic, interdisciplinary and cross-border thinking and action.
We, the employees of the C3L, have lost a highly valued colleague, a humorous but also persistent panellist and a reliable and intelligent advisor. We will miss him very much.
