Sports management is the focus of a new further education programme offered by C3L – the Centre for Lifelong Learning at the University of Oldenburg. The certificate programme is aimed primarily at staff working for sports clubs, sports federations, gyms and event agencies, but is also open to those starting their careers. The programme is delivered predominantly online.

The content of this modular programme is tailored to the needs of clubs, federations and agencies, which are increasingly in need of qualified specialists. Those interested can take the modules on sports marketing and sponsorship, national and international sports management, sports law and personnel management in sport individually as university-level further education courses, or together as a certificate programme. No university entrance qualification, such as the Abitur, is required. Participants can use the further education programme as a stepping stone to a part-time degree: the internationally recognised certificate can be credited towards the Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration for Elite Athletes at C3L, whilst some modules can also be credited towards the Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration for SMEs.
