A new series of events organised by AOK Niedersachsen and the C3L - Centre for Lifelong Learning at the University of Oldenburg offers a forum for exchange on the topic of care. The series "Rethinking care - redirecting care" begins on Tuesday, 30 April at 4.30 pm with a lecture in the library hall (Haarentor campus, Uhlhornsweg 49 - 55). Prof Dr Mark Schweda, Professorship for Ethics in Medicine at the University's Department of Health Services Research, will speak on the topic of "Growing old with dignity". This will be followed by a discussion with Dr Thomas Brieden, Director of the Clinic for Geriatric Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the Karl Jaspers Clinic in Bad Zwischenahn, in which the audience can also take part. The series of events is aimed at interested members of the public, in particular professionals from the health and care sector. Admission is free, but please register without obligation at .

Stefanie Freytag, Fulda University of Applied Sciences, and Prof Dr Tanja Zieschang, University of Oldenburg, will address the question of how violence in care can be prevented.
Tuesday, 2 July, 4.30 p.m.: "Satisfied working in care" (Library Hall, University of Oldenburg, Uhlhornsweg 49-55). Prof. Dr Martina Hasseler, Ostfalia University, Iris Meyenburg-Altwarg, Hannover Medical School, and Dominik Honecker, Evangelisches Krankenhaus Oldenburg, will discuss how nursing staff with a high level of expertise can be recruited.
Wednesday, 4 September, 4.30 p.m.: "Growing old healthily" (Lifelong Learning Campus, Ammerländer Heerstraße 136, Building V03 Room 0-E005). Prof Dr Kerstin Baumgarten, Magdeburg University of Applied Sciences, will report on how people aged 60 and over can be empowered to actively do something for their well-being. Other experts will present preventive and nutritional approaches.
Prof Dr Gisela C. Schulze is the scientific director of the forum and will also moderate the events.
