Business administration graduates who completed their studies at the VWA Oldenburg Academy of Administration and Economics will be able to progress seamlessly into a part-time Bachelor’s degree programme in Business Administration at the University of Oldenburg in the coming summer semester. Through the ‘Fast-track Bachelor’s Programme for Business Administration Graduates (VWA)’, graduates can obtain a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree within four semesters. They will be credited with 90 credit points for their VWA qualification, meaning they only need to earn a further 90 credit points to complete their Bachelor’s degree. Applications can be submitted online at uol.de/bwl/bewerbung until 15 February. The co-operation is supported by the City of Oldenburg’s Economic Development Agency.
“The co-operation between the VWA and the university offers many benefits to companies and their employees,” emphasises Tim Zentner, Managing Director of C3L – the Centre for Lifelong Learning at the University of Oldenburg. The flexible continuing education model enables companies to develop long-term prospects for their own talent. “Further education and the Bachelor’s degree programme take place in the region and can be completed whilst working,” Zentner continues. This means that employees remain available to their companies throughout.
“VWA Oldenburg and one of its sponsoring organisations, the University of Oldenburg, are now even more closely linked than before. “We are delighted that, in addition to part-time further education leading to the ‘Business Administration, VWA’ qualification, we can now also offer VWA participants the opportunity to obtain a fully recognised university degree,” explains Volker Trautmann, Chairman of the VWA Board. “The VWA and the Centre for Lifelong Learning at the University of Oldenburg are thus making an important contribution to tackling the problem of the shortage of skilled workers,” Trautmann continues.
The part-time Bachelor’s degree programme at the C3L – Centre for Lifelong Learning covers the fundamentals of business administration, including business and Economics, law and finance, controlling, marketing and human resources. In addition, students can specialise in promising fields such as sustainability management, online marketing, digital business models or sports management. The practice-oriented modules focus on collaborative project work. Learning takes place online and in compact on-site workshops. The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree is internationally recognised and qualifies graduates to progress to a Master’s programme.
