The planning and implementation of competence-oriented seminars is the focus of a two-day workshop offered by the Center for Lifelong Learning (C3L) at the University of Oldenburg on 4 and 5 November. The further education programme on the Lifelong Learning Campus (Ammerländer Heerstraße 136) is aimed specifically at teachers who work with adult learners and will be run by Sabine Riemer, a member of the University Didactics department at Bremen University of Applied Sciences. Competence orientation is the big buzzword in education, whether at school, in vocational training, in further education or in the university context. It requires a change of perspective: The focus is not on the teachers and their content (input), but on the learners or what they should be able to do after successfully attending a seminar, both professionally and interdisciplinary (learning outcomes). Participants in the further education programme have the opportunity to transfer the skills they have acquired to their own seminar practice.
