A varied programme of public events will be on offer from 15 September to 2 October. There are still places available for some of the events.
A wide range of academic educational programmes for everyone, excellent support, flexible online study and practical know-how: this is what the C3L – Centre for Lifelong Learning at the University of Oldenburg – has stood for since 2006. Under the motto “Shape your future”, the academic centre is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a three-week programme of public events. Among those attending the anniversary event “The future begins with education” on 15 September at the hallig hanken will be Falko Mohrs, Lower Saxony’s Minister for Science. The anniversary programme is aimed at various target groups; participation is free of charge.

The development of the Institute for Training and Further Education in Psychotherapy
Tuesday, 29 September, 7.00 pm, BIS Hall (Uhlhornsweg 49–55)
Under the motto ‘Understanding history – shaping the future’, professionals and members of the public may find out about the milestones in training practice to date, the prospects for psychotherapeutic further education following registration as a practising doctor, and future challenges.
Workshop Day: “Future Readiness – Aspirations Meet Implementation”
Thursday, 1 October, 2.00 pm to 9.00 pm, C3L / Innovation Campus (Ammerländer Heerstraße 138, Building V03, Wing W)
The event focuses on the future viability of businesses. In a series of workshop sessions, participants will reflect on how companies can respond to technological progress, demographic change and evolving working environments in a forward-looking, adaptable and innovation-oriented manner. A networking evening will round off the workshop day.
Themed evening: ‘Loneliness as a societal challenge’
Thursday, 1 October, 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm, BIS Hall (Uhlhornsweg 49–55)
Three talks and a panel discussion will explore the causes and manifestations of loneliness, the role of digital media, and changing social relationships in old age. Anyone interested, regardless of age, is welcome to attend.
Closing event: ‘Security of supply and the energy transition: Who pays the price?’
Friday, 2 October, 1.00 pm to 6.00 pm, hallig hanken (August-Hanken-Str. 24, 26125 Oldenburg)
The event will focus on the question of how the energy transition can be reconciled with economic competitiveness and social justice. The programme includes four workshops, a staged debate and a panel discussion with experts. The event is aimed at experts from business, academia and politics, C3L alumni and anyone else interested.
