NaTuL - Sustainability in the transport and logistics industry

Sustainability in the transport and logistics industry An IHK certificate course is being developed and trialled for transport logistics specialists in order to make the industry more sustainable. The course uses an AI-supported serious game.

Brief description and objectives

Legal regulations and society's growing environmental awareness are increasing the pressure on logistics companies to orientate themselves towards sustainability. To date, companies have often not yet fully utilised their scope for action in this area.

The project is developing and testing an innovative IHK certificate course aimed at a new generation of specialists who are driving forward sustainable practices in transport logistics through innovative ideas. They will be enabled to take ecological and social aspects into account in their daily work processes in order to make the industry more sustainable. Similar to additional qualifications, certificate courses are an important instrument for making dual vocational training more flexible, differentiated and individualised.

In a blended learning approach, the course combines an AI-supported serious game with accompanying seminars that enable learners to learn flexibly and adapt their training to sustainability issues. The serious game comprises everyday core business with free play as well as competence-orientated game scenarios. The aim of the game is to develop the simulated company in a sustainable way. Serious games make learning processes more flexible, promote learning motivation and ideally create a flow experience during learning.

In addition to the cross-cutting topic of digitalisation, the course consists of these content modules:

  • Working conditions in transport logistics
  • Sustainable warehouse management
  • Transparency and resilience in complex value chains
  • Sustainability reporting
  • Future vision "Transport logistics 2050"
