Protect software, brands and copyrights

The module provides comprehensive legal skills for the legal protection of intangible assets such as software, domains and patents. Participants acquire interdisciplinary knowledge and skills at the interface of Business Administration, Computing Science and Law.

One focus is on software protection under German and European copyright law as well as patent and trade mark law. Software contract law and the legal aspects of open source software are also covered.

Other topics include the legal protection of databases, copyright law on the Internet and trademark and domain law. Students will learn how to enforce claims for intellectual property and effectively defend their rights.
