Thailand is well placed to benefit from the development of innovative start-ups. This is shown by the current Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, which points to the culturally favourable start-up climate, the relatively high propensity of women to set up businesses and the low level of fear of failure. Bangkok in particular, as an international centre and hub for the entire Southeast Asian region, offers numerous entrepreneurial opportunities that are increasingly being recognised. Entrepreneurship is therefore playing a growing role in Thailand's universities. As part of a fact-finding mission organised by the German Academic Exchange Service, a delegation led by the Endowed Professorship of Entrepreneurship has initiated co-operation with Thai universities. This involves co-operation in entrepreneurship education, start-up research and university-related start-up support.
