Diversity Strategy

With the diversity strategy adopted by the presidential board in 2023, the University of Oldenburg is recognizing, valuing, promoting and shaping its own diversity. In addition, the university aims to reduce existing disadvantages and barriers and thus sustainably increase the diversity in the composition of its student and staff body in the long term.

On the basis of a shared understanding of diversity, overarching strategic objectives and action-guiding cornerstones on diversity have been defined here for the first time. Existing approaches and concepts on individual diversity dimensions (especially in the area of inclusion) have been systematically brought together by defining concrete objectives and measures in various fields of action. This placed the structural anchoring of diversity on a long-term basis and a process for quality assurance has been described, which ensures the sustainable promotion and shaping of diversity as a cross-sectional task at the UOL.

Starting point for the diversity strategy were the results of the Diversity audit "Shaping Diversity" of the Stifterverband 2020-2023.
