MotiV: Measure, optimise, train to improve individual nutrition and exercise
People (70+) wanted for pilot study!
You can take part in a study on nutrition and functionality in older people (EFA)!
Who can take part?
- You are aged 70 or over.
- You are able to get about within Oldenburg.
- You are interested in information about nutrition and exercise.
- You suspect that you may be experiencing early difficulties with mobility (e.g. balance problems) or nutrition (e.g. loss of appetite, weight loss).
- No prior technical experience required!
What is it about?
As part of a research project at the University of Oldenburg, a digital support system called ‘MotiV’ is being developed in the form of a tablet-based app and a measurement and training station. The ‘MotiV’ support system is based at the University of Oldenburg and comprises modern testing methods to assess your nutrition, mobility and strength, as well as an innovative training device that enables a personalised training programme tailored to your needs.
The aim is to enable older people to independently monitor and improve their dietary and physical activity levels.
What is your role?
As part of this randomised controlled trial, you will be able to use a tablet with our programme, as well as a measurement and training station, over a period of twelve weeks.
First, we will assess whether you are suitable to take part in the study. At the start of your first appointment, you will receive a detailed introduction to using the ‘MotiV’ support system, which you can access, as well as to the tablet’s functions for use at home. You will then carry out training sessions and measurements independently at regular intervals.
Why are we doing this?
Problems relating to diet and exercise are often only recognised once significant limitations have already set in. It doesn’t have to be that way! If early signs of problems with exercise and diet are identified at a early stage, targeted measures can prevent these from leading to difficulties in everyday life.
If you’re interested or would like more information, please get in touch with us – there’s no obligation!
We look forward to hearing from you!
