MotiV: Measure, optimise, train to improve individual nutrition and exercise

People (70+) wanted for pilot study!

Participation in a study on nutrition and functionality in old age (EFA) possible!

Who can take part?

  • You are at least 70 years old.
  • You are mobile within Oldenburg.
  • You are interested in information on nutrition and exercise.
  • You suspect that you have experienced initial difficulties with mobility (e.g. balance problems) or nutrition (e.g. loss of appetite, weight loss).
  • No previous technical experience required!

What is it about?

A digital support system "MotiV" in the form of a tablet-based app and a measuring and training station is being developed as part of a research project at the University of Oldenburg. The "MotiV" support system is located at the University of Oldenburg and includes modern test procedures to assess your nutrition, mobility and strength as well as a new type of training device that enables personalised training tailored to your needs.

The aim is to enable older people to independently measure and improve their nutritional and exercise status.

What is your contribution?

As part of the pilot study, you can use a tablet with our programme and a measuring and training station for a period of three weeks.

We will first check whether you are suitable to take part in the study. At the beginning of the first appointment, you will receive a detailed introduction to the use of the "MotiV" assistance system, which you can visit, as well as to the functions of the tablet for use at home. You will then carry out training and measurements independently at regular intervals.

Why are we doing this?

Problems with nutrition and exercise are often only recognised when relevant restrictions already exist. That doesn't have to be the case! If initial exercise and nutritional problems are recognised at an early stage, targeted measures can prevent them from leading to impairments in everyday life.

If you are interested or would like more information, please contact us without obligation!

We look forward to hearing from you!
