If you have already successfully completed a degree programme at a German university, you are considered a second degree applicant. Admission to a second degree programme is restricted and the number of study places is limited to a maximum of 3 percent.

If you wish to take up a second degree programme in human medicine for academic reasons, you will need an expert opinion from the university named first in the initial application. The university will send the report directly to Hochschulstart.

The deadlines for applying for the report depend on when you completed your first degree. If you completed your first degree after 15 January of the year, the application deadlines for "new high school graduates" apply; if you completed your studies before 16 January of the year, the deadlines for "old high school graduates" apply. As this is the deadline for submitting the documents in Dortmund, please note that you must submit the proposal for the assessment report to the university in good time.

In Oldenburg, you can only begin your studies in the winter semester. In order to ensure that the assessment report arrives at Hochschulstart on time, please send us the documents six weeks before the deadline. Please send the documents to:
