Notes Change to Master
Information for students switching to the Master's programme in winter semester 25/26
If you have applied for a Master's degree programme in winter semester 25/26, you can only take part in the registration procedure once you have been admitted to the Master's degree programme and have been re-registered accordingly in Stud.IP. (This also applies to students whose hardship application has been approved!)*
This time may be after the lottery procedure, which is also organised in such a way that students in higher semesters are given preferential consideration*.
In this case, you have the opportunity to register for courses that are not firmly linked to another course (i.e. usually for almost all courses of ger780/880 and ger790/890 as well as for all courses of ger771/800 [ger771/800 is only offered in the winter semester! Registration will not close until 17 October 2025. (Experience has shown that there is always a lot (really: a lot!) of movement in the waiting lists, so that even if you are on a back waiting list, you still have a chance to move up the list of participants by the end of the second week of the course).
- Lectures are not limited in number of participants. You can participate in any case.
- Students of ger771 please note that the module must be completed within one semester and is only offered in the winter semester.
- Students of ger800 please note the enrolment requirements in the subject-specific German Studies annex that applies to them. Please also note that ger800 is only offered in the winter semester.
If you have any problems, please contact Ms Brören by email during the clearing phase.
* Please note the information on application deadlines in § 3 of the "Regulations on admission to the consecutive Master's degree programme "German Studies" (M.A.) of School III - School of Linguistics and Cultural Studies at the University of Oldenburg", which you can find download here here.
Note for students who have applied for the M.Ed. Wipäd or M.Ed. Sopäd programmes
Students of the M.Ed. Wipäd and M.Ed. Sopäd first study the advanced modules in the Master's programme. As the advanced modules, with the exception of ger301, are also part of the subject-specific German Studies annex to the Bachelor's examination regulations, you can still take part in the registration procedure even if you are not yet registered for the M.Ed. Sopäd/Wipäd in Stud.IP.
Only the above-mentioned ger301 (only Sopäd) and ger771 (Sopäd/Wipäd) cannot yet be selected. However, ger771 may only be completed after successful completion of ger242 (Sopäd) or ger246 (Wipäd).
Likewise, ger880/890 (only Wipäd) cannot yet be selected, as it is not part of the FSA German Studies of the BPO. The prerequisite for taking this module is the successful completion of an advanced module in linguistics (for ger880) or an advanced module in literary studies (for ger890).
